Staff get involved with The Big Plastic Count
Last month Amarinth staff took part in The Big Plastic Count .
This challenge asks volunteers to collect together their plastic waste between 11th-17th March to gage the quantity of plastic consumption across UK households and where it all ends up.
Run by Greenpeace UK and Everyday Plastic this annual initiative creates important conversations around the UK’s plastic consumption and where it goes.
Test engineer Hari Kumar collected his plastic for a week and at the end found out:
12% is recycled
10% is sent abroad
66% is burnt
12% is sent to landfill
Part of Amarinth's mission is to ensure that as a company we are making efforts to decreasing our impact on the environment. This involves encouraging our staff to get involved with making changes in the office and at home.
Thank you to those in our team who took part in this country wide initiative.
