Amarinth’s recycling scheme yields impressive sustainability results
Here at Amarinth we are constantly making efforts to reduce our impact on the environment. As part of this effort, we have a recycling scheme that encourages recycling across the whole company, as well as prompting staff to make more sustainable choices at home.
To succeed in our environmental goals, Amarinth’s waste is picked up and sorted through by local waste recycling company Sackers.
Sackers provide a thorough method of recycling which requires companies to separate their recycling more effectively. Following the collection of the waste, Sackers sort through the separated materials to ensure that each type of recycled material is correctly organised and will therefore be recycled appropriately.
The result of this collaborative recycling process means that for the last six months waste to landfill has been significantly reduced with the majority being incinerated to generate energy at the local Great Blakenham site.
So far this year only 5% of our overall waste has gone to landfill. This is in contrast to the 36.71% that has been recovered and 58.29% that has been recycled.
