Amarinth Supporting The North Sea Oil Industry With Bespoke API OH1 Pumps
This week Amarinth completed the final inspection of two bespoke API OH1, B-Series pumps for the Catcher FPSO in the North Sea.
The API OH1 units were particularly challenging, but well within our UK based design and manufacturing teams capabilities. The brief meant that we had to replace existing long coupled units, with short coupled units with larger impellers, all on the exact footprint as the original pumps. This was achieved by our in house engineering team creating a custom baseplate to accommodate the increased impeller size, whilst still matching up with all of the existing pipework.
To achieve this we lowered the design within the baseplate, whilst maintaining the original footprint, and thus being able to match up with all existing installations. This was completed on a very short lead time, and they will be shipped and installed over the next month. At a time when the North Sea is becoming more and more important in securing global energy supplies, Amarinth is well placed both as a quality UK manufacturer, a local supplier and being able to deliver challenging bespoke units on short lead times.
