Amarinth manufactures nutshell filter pumps for Arabian Industries

Nutshell filters are a type of filter commonly used in the oil and gas industry to clean oily water using crushed nut shells as the filter media. Some nut shells, such as walnut and pecan shells, have a high affinity for oil and so are very effective at removing oil and suspended solids from water. They are also an environmentally friendly solution for meeting water quality standards.

Amarinth is the leading supplier of pumps for nutshell filters, delivering against the requirements of many projects across the world. The impellers for nutshell filter pumps are a unique open design (unlike the shrouded design used on most centrifugal pumps) so that the pumps can efficiently circulate the filter bed contents, allowing the collected oil and solids to be stripped from the nutshell media. The success of the nutshell filter relies heavily on the design and operation of the pump to circulate the nutshell fibrous media without damaging it and enabling the nutshells to be reused many times.

We are currently preparing the latest order of nutshell filter pumps for Arabian Industries and have just received the machined impellers ready for assembly.
