Amarinth completes bespoke pumping solution for Enauta’s new FPSO
When Amarinth was approached for API 610 OH2 pumps for the Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel that Enauta had recently purchased for the Definitive System (DS) of the Atlanta field, located offshore Brazil, there were challenging requirements due to space restrictions on the vessel.
The FPSO, which will be capable of operating in ultra-deepwater depths of 1,500m, is being adapted by Malaysia's Yinson Production from an existing FPSO through a turnkey engineering, procurement, construction, and installation contract.
Yinson had successfully used Amarinth pumps on previous FPSO builds and so was confident that Amarinth could design and manufacture these two new API 610 OH2 pumps with Plan 53B seal support systems to the required deadline.
The solution we provided was to mount the 4.5 tonne duplex stainless-steel pumps on a bespoke pump frame and to locate the Plan 53B seal support systems off the frame where they could be more easily accommodated. The pumps have also been designed to the latest API 610 12th Edition.
Seen here, the pumps are undergoing final testing at Amarinth’s facilities in the UK.
