Demand Surges for Amarinth API 685 Magnetic Drive Pumps as Major Project Completes
Amarinth continues to experience unprecedented growth in demand for its API 685 magnetic drive pump range, recently completing a major order involving the supply of more than 40 pumps for a long-standing global customer.
As process industries move toward increasingly stringent environmental and safety standards, demand for API 685 magnetic drive pumps has reached new heights. By eliminating the need for traditional dynamic mechanical seals, these pumps provide a leak-free, hermetically sealed solution, essential for handling hazardous, toxic, or high-value fluids where “zero leakage” is a non-negotiable requirement.
This latest milestone includes the delivery of over 40 bespoke centrifugal pumps, comprising both OH2 (horizontal) and VS4 (vertical) configurations. These pumps have been designed to support a critical infrastructure project for one of Amarinth’s most valued long-term partners.
Amarinth’s API 685 range is engineered for a 30-year design life, ensuring long-term reliability in the most demanding operating environments.
- API 685 OH2: Horizontal, overhung, single-stage pumps designed for maximum modularity. Featuring a back-pullout design with metal-to-metal fits, they allow maintenance without disturbing the motor or pipework.
- API 685 OH3: Vertical in-line overhung pumps, available in foot-mounted, frame-mounted, or pipeline-mounted configurations. Their compact footprint makes them an excellent alternative where space is limited.
- API 685 VS4: Vertical long-shaft sump pumps designed for depths of up to 6 metres, ideal for drain drums and both open and closed oily water sumps.
Typical performance ranges (depending on pump type) include:
- Flow rates: Up to 300 m³/h (standard), with bespoke options available
- Differential head: Up to 100 m
- Temperature range: From -20°C to 250°C
- Pressure rating: 40 barg as standard (higher ratings available on request)
Pumps can be manufactured in a wide range of high-specification alloys, from carbon steel through to super duplex and titanium, providing superior corrosion resistance.
In addition, a variety of bespoke ancillaries and instrumentation options are available. These include environmental adaptations such as custom-engineered sunshades, designed to protect motors and sensitive instrumentation from direct solar radiation in extreme high-temperature environments.
