It’s been another very busy year for Amarinth and we would like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to all our customers for entrusting us with your pumping needs and making this another year to remember.
We are looking forwards to launching a number of exciting products and services in 2006 that will broaden our range of equipment and deliver further enhancements to our customer services. With this in mind, we aim to issue a regular newsletter during 2006 to keep you up to date. For this month though, we thought you might like to hear of a few of the initiatives that have kept us busy during the year.
Amarinth has been quietly building a name for itself for the delivery of pumping solutions designed to meet the challenging conditions faced by operators in the North Sea. Pending OSPAR regulatory changes due in 2006 target reductions in the amount of oil released into open water in the North Sea. This requires operators to filter and treat produced water prior to discharge. Amarinth has supplied pumps for this task that have been designed to client specific requirements, often on very short lead times. The latest order will see Amarinth supplying pumps for the Amerada Hess operated Triton Floating, Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel. CiNergy is the name of Spirax Sarco’s new range of compact energy recovery units which have been designed and manufactured by Amarinth. These condensate recovery units are fitted with pumps that use variable speed motors and a control system that regulates the rate of which condensate is returned to the boiler system, matching output to input. In use, the new drives have contributed to electricity savings of over £1,000 per annum per pump in addition to returning a higher amount of latent steam energy to the boilers.

Amarinth has launched a range of close coupled pumps. By directly connecting the pump to the motor, the machines have a smaller footprint and cost less than a conventional bearing bracket mounted pump. Close coupled pumps don’t require a base frame, leaving more options as to how and where they are installed.
