Coronavirus update – 30th April

Amarinth Pumps e-News Header Image

As we end week 7 of the current global COVID19 crisis within the UK, Amarinth manufacturing continues to make all reasonable and effective changes to its operation to both minimise any adverse impact to our customers and to attempt to keep up to speed with the ever-changing environment.

The UK government restrictions and recommendations continue to be adhered to in full whilst we keep an active eye on all other key areas across the globe which could impact our ability to supply and support customers and otherwise disrupt business continuity during this period.

In our previous updates we have shared some of the effective measures actively adopted to support our Customers, Staff and the Industries which continue to rely on all the services we provide. The following message contains further highlights of the ongoing developments and activities taking place to support this focus.

Technical engineering, Sales evaluation and support

Our global sales managers continue to successfully support customers, and actively engage to review both existing and new enquiries despite the restriction in travel and site meetings across every continent.

Video conferencing through the Amarinth secure StarLeaf platform is now seen as a normal daily activity for live projects, technical sales evaluation meetings, and consultative design engineering, as we actively encourage and register more and more of our customers onto the platform. As a result of these positive measures, we have been able to maintain 100% of our workforce within the business, avoiding the need to furlough any staff across all offices.

Please contact any of our team or call us direct on +44 (0) 1394 462 120. We will be happy to arrange immediate access to our video system or arrange a call with the appropriately experienced person in the team.

Stock Levels, Manufacturing & Assembly

Over the past 2 weeks, we have seen more of our local sub-suppliers revert back to full working capacity, having taken the appropriate measures to adopt the recommended distancing and safe operating guidelines. We continue to work closely with all of our foundries both within the UK and across the globe, which has given us the flexibility and confidence to offer the attractive lead times which many customers require.

Throughout April we have been actively supporting the Power market within the UK and delivered much-needed pumps to the likes of EDF. In addition, we invested in the latest video platform equipment within our Assembly unit and arranged the successful completion of a project critical Hydro witnessing test for our customers, TPI-Third Party inspectors, and a representative from Bureau Veritas. These new working practises have had positive feedback from the customer as well as the full endorsement of the inspectors and has helped maintain the critical milestones in the manufacturing schedule.

Our newly adopted flexible packing arrangements for all Air, Freight, and Sea goods have continued to be utilised as we’ve continued to manage and complete our active orderbook.

Visitors, Screening and Virtual access

Direct customer visit levels to our head office in the UK have all but stopped and, as you would expect, the essential sub-supplier deliveries remain active as we follow our new ‘Goods Inwards’ process.

Support to all our Customers

These measures are designed to minimise any disruption to your supply and overall experience and we will continue to monitor the situation to the best of our ability.

We appreciate your understanding during this time and are confident that our current measures and policies will allow us to deliver the service that you expect.

Regards

Oliver Brigginshaw
