Coronavirus update – 21st May

Amarinth Pumps e-News Header Image

Dear Customers, You’ll be reading this update as an existing, or potential, Amarinth customer and, if you haven’t seen our previous regular updates, I would recommend you take a few moments to familiarise yourself with the actions and efforts the company has taken since the lockdown announcement was made by the UK government.

Whilst you’ll see that we have strictly adhered to the UK government restrictions and recommendations, we have also kept an active eye on all other major influences across the globe which could impact our ability to supply and support customers and otherwise disrupt business continuity during this period. At the time of writing, the sentiment within the company, and indeed our closest network of sub-suppliers and customers, is that we appear to be heading with caution towards some resemblance of ‘business as usual’ across many of our key sectors.

The positive opinion of many of our contacts has been echoed in the attitudes of our supply chain and staff, to ensure the minimal impact we’ve seen to our Manufacturing Plant and services over the past 10 weeks. The following message contains the latest highlights and activities taking place to continue this focus.

Technical engineering, Sales evaluation and support

Enquiries for new pump applications, design challenges and engineering support have increased over the past 3 weeks, having initially reduced after many customers furloughed staff or reduced capacity in their businesses. As a global pump manufacturer, we had seen various reduced activity levels within each continent; however, since the beginning of May, we have experienced a clear uplift in activity with many of our key customers back to pre-COVID-19 outbreak levels.

Amarinth continues to offer its full range of services and remains available for all types of enquiries. Customers have adapted to the new ways of communicating with us on complex engineering consultation, and we have seen a twentyfold uplift in our video conferencing services as customers work from home or have travel restrictions.

Anyone of our team will be happy to arrange access or a meeting to discuss. Please call us on +44 (0) 1394 462 120.

Stock levels, Manufacturing and Assembly

All our foundry suppliers are back to full capacity or entering phase two of their controlled return to full staffing levels. Our other major sub-supplier partners are also returning to normal operating levels, and have worked closely with Amarinth over the entire lockdown period to adapt and adopt new working arrangements, which has enabled us to continue to provide the uninterrupted service levels we have seen. This has been a major success across our business and we thank all our sub-suppliers for their continued support.

Continued witness testing has successfully taken place during May to ensure further International projects remain on track. We have worked closely with our TPI (Third Party inspectors), representatives from Bureau Veritas as well as our customers, and have completed live witness hydro testing using HD Webcams and our integrated data software platform. We have now ensured all testing standards and procedures can be offered for remote access allowing all ‘real-time’ data and visual access to any of our customers situated anywhere in the world.

Such has been the positive response to this service, that we are now in discussion with many of our customers to promote the service following the COVID-19 lockdown restrictions as there are clear environmental benefits.

Visitors, Screening and Virtual access

As we consider a controlled return to business operations in accordance with the CMO's (Chief Medical Officer) recommendations, we have completed a detailed risk assessment for all staff working remotely and within the factory buildings. Our visitor protocol remains in force, and we are now planning to ensure our operations remain ‘COVID Clean’ for when we decide to enter a controlled phasing of increased staff levels in our offices.

Support to all our Customers

These measures are designed to continue the minimum disruption you have seen over the past 10 weeks and we will continue to monitor the situation to the best of our ability.

We appreciate your understanding during this time, and are confident that our current measures and policies will allow us to deliver the service that you and your market expects.

Regards

Oliver Brigginshaw
