Amarinth continue to grow and evolve to meet new challenges and opportunities in the Oil and Gas industries as Enhanced Oil Recovery explores new processes and demands innovative solutions

New opportunities as economic confidence grows

It is great to see renewed confidence in the manufacturing sector around the globe and at Amarinth we have been busy ensuring our organisation is best placed to service both our existing customers and the new ones that are increasingly turning to us for solutions to their challenging pumping requirements. The Oil and Gas industry in also going through significant change as it seeks new ways to extract the remaining reserves locked deep in the ground. These new processes, known generally as Enhanced Oil Recovery, demand innovative solutions, which is a challenge Amarinth has always relished.

Whatever industry you are in, we would welcome discussing with you any requirements. In the meantime below are just a few examples of how Amarinth has continued to evolve over this year.

Delivering high temperature and pressure duty pumps for Enhanced Oil Recovery

To extract the remaining reserves in the oil and gas fields around the world requires engineers to break new ground to overcome formidable technical challenges.Amarinth has delivered bespoke API 610 OH2 pumps with API 682 Plan 53C seal support systems for the Enhanced Oil Recovery process to extract additional reserves that remain in the Alder field in the North Sea. The pumps have to move the very high temperature oil and water fluid that comes up from the well to the separator process at suction pressures fluctuating between 1 and 60 bar.

You can read more about how we delivered a solution for this challenging project along with others on our Case Studies page.

Welcoming new members to the team

In our last newsletter we outlined the recent expansion of our facilities in Rendlesham. This time we are pleased to say that we have further strengthened our team with two new appointments. Over the last 12 months we have seen orders for pump spares grow by 50% – not just for Amarinth pumps but also other makes, and in particular Girdlestone. To ensure that all queries are handled in a timely manner and orders processed to meet customer deadlines,

Justine Rudolph has joined Amarinth to head-up this aspect of the operation. Also, Richard Barnes joins the team as Sales Manager to support our expanding customer base here in the UK. He brings a wealth of experience within the sectors we supply ensuring our customers can look forward to continuing to receive excellent service from us for many years to come.

If you have any requirements for new or replacement pumps, or pump spares, then just contact us to see what we can do for you.

Tropicalising pumps

Last year we developed a Technical Bulletin summarising the experience we have gathered regarding winterising pumps. We have now complemented this by collating our experience for tropicalising pumps. When it comes to equipment that has to work in hostile tropical climates, the API 610 datasheet has just a tick box indicating tropicalisation is required and there isn’t any clear definition for what this entails nor any further guidance for material selection or design considerations to assist customers or manufacturers.
This Technical Bulletin brings together our experience in selecting materials and coatings to work in this environment and some of the design changes that can help prevent damage from condensation.

We will continue to develop new Technical Bulletins to help inform our customers and clarify points that we believe can sometimes cause confusion when ordering pumps. We have a number of interesting bulletins that are currently in development and will be published on the website in the next few months.

I hope this e-mail has been of use to you. If you do not wish to receive future updates or e-mail us at updates@amarinth.com with the word “Unsubscribe” in the title.
