Amarinth enables East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust to make significant cost saving

Amarinth has enabled East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust to make significant savings refurbishing its condensate recovery units by providing plug-and-play replacements for the existing Girdlestone pumps.

Condensate recovery units (CRUs) are installed in most NHS hospitals to reduce energy costs by collecting hot condensate from the steam system and returning it back to the boiler plant to be used as boiler feed. In many cases these systems were commissioned over 20 years ago, many using Girdlestone pumps which are nearing the end of their working lives. Amarinth has now stepped in to deliver a cost saving lifeline to NHS Trusts, which manage over 2,000 Hospitals across the United Kingdom, by providing new plug-and-play pumps incorporating the latest technologies for optimum reliability and efficiency to replace the old Girdlestone units without any modification being required to pipework or baseplates. The cost savings to the NHS of this approach are significant, over 80% compared to what other suppliers are quoting to renew the pumps and CRUs.
