Amarinth secures $300K order for pumps in the challenging Sahil and Shah oil fields in Abu Dhabi

Amarinth, a leading company specialising in the design, application and manufacture of centrifugal pumps and associated equipment to the industrial, chemical and petrochemical industries has secured an initial order for $300K of process pumps from leading Spanish engineering and construction company Tecnicas Reunidas for use the Sahil and Shah fields as part of the Full Field Development project in Abu Dhabi.

The order from Tecnicas Reunidas is for $300K (USD) of eight duplex D1 pumps – four ISO 5199 C-Series horizontal pumps and four ISO 5199 T-Series vertical sump pumps – to be deployed in the Sahil and Shah oil fields in a desert area about 220 km south of Abu Dhabi city in Abu Dhabi.

Tecnicas Reunidas was awarded Package B of the Full Field Development project (the biggest on-shore project ever awarded in the region) by Abu Dhabi Company for Oil Operations (ADCO) last year. Amarinth has been involved with this project previously though, having won an order for $4million earlier this year from Petrofac for API 610 pumps for use in Package A of the Full Field Development project in the Asab field.

This is the first time Amarinth has worked with Tecnicas Reunidas however, and instrumental in Amarinth winning this order was being an ADCO approved supplier as well as the experience from the Petrofac contract in the handling of project documentation and procedures, an area that is becoming increasingly important in such projects.

Amarinth reacted very quickly to the particularly complex specifications of the project and incorporated a number of last minute requirements enabling Tecnicas Reunidas to fulfil its obligations. Amarinth drew on its experience of previously supplying to the ADCO specifications and guided and advised Tecnicas Reunidas saving them time and money in the process. Amarinth and Tecnicas Reunidas are now in discussions over additional pumps required on the same contract that will need to be fast tracked.

Oliver Brigginshaw, Managing Director of Amarinth commented: “We are delighted to have been awarded this order by Tecnicas Reunidas. It not only increases our footprint within the world’s major engineering contractors but also underlines our continued commitment to providing the very best pumping technologies, short-lead time deliveries and full documentation and support to the most demanding high specification petrochemical projects in the world.”
