Amarinth secures $1M API 610 vertical sump pump order at ADIPEC in Abu Dhabi

Amarinth, a leading company specialising in the design, application and manufacture of pumps and associated equipment for the oil and gas industry, has secured a $1M order from Galfar Engineering and Construction of Abu Dhabi for ten super duplex API 610 VS4 vertical sump pumps.

Whilst exhibiting at the 13th bi-annual Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition & Conference (ADIPEC) in November, Amarinth finalised a $1M order from Galfar Engineering and Construction for the design, manufacture, and commissioning of ten super duplex API 610 VS4 Vertical Sump pumps. A key factor in the award of this order to Amarinth was its combination of price competitiveness, lead time and product quality match. Amarinth will be supplying the pumps on a lead time of just 30 – 35 weeks.

The pumps are a key component in the project known as 'Closed Drains System Modifications’ at the Bab Plant which is owned and operated by the Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Oil Operations (ADCO) and for which Galfar has won the EPC contract.

The project will improve the operability and safety of the existing facilities which encompasses the provision of a closed drain system at RDS 1/2/3/4/5 comprising of a drain vessel in a concrete pit with duty stand-by pumps and piping.
The existing drains system utilise the drain headers with burn pits to burn the drained oil whenever the flow lines are depressurized for any reason. The gas outlet from the RDS test separators is routed to a cold vent stack via a knock out drum. The project will minimise the use of burn pits and prevent the unnecessary loss of crude oil during draining activities which will reduce both the financial and environmental impact of the process.

Oliver Brigginshaw, Managing Director of Amarinth, added: "We are delighted to have won this significant order which further underlines the strength of our expanding Middle East operations and our commitment to delivering bespoke API 610 pumps on the shortest lead time in the industry. ADIPEC proved a great success for Amarinth, and being able to finalise this order at the conference was an added bonus that rounded off an excellent week.”
