July news letter

Amarinth has secured its second order from Descon Engineering for two 9.5m long super duplex API 610 VS4 vertical sump pumps for sea water intake at the Borouge 3 plant in Ruwais, 250 kilometres west of Abu Dhabi city.

Amarinth utilised its own unique software, which is configured to handle over 100,000 vertical pump variants, to design the pumps to fit existing constraints, including a bespoke baseplate, additional start-up lubrication for the top bearings and careful sizing to ensure the pumps were as efficient as possible to work within power limitations at the site.

Amarinth expands its pump services, extending the working life of third-party industrial single stage end suction pumps

Amarinth has expanded its range of pump services to include the strip, report and refurbishment of industrial single stage end suction pumps, regardless of the original equipment manufacturer.

Natural wear patterns dictate a reliable working life for pumps of some 15 to 20 years. However, if a pump manufacturer has ceased trading or significantly retracted from certain geographies then a like-for-like replacement may not be available. This can entail a significant risk matching a new pump to an existing pump’s specification and the possibility of extensive downtime as pipework, mountings and fittings are changed to suit the new pump. Amarinth’s new service can refurbish most API 610 and ISO 5199 pumps to extend and support their working life for a couple more decades. A detailed mechanical and hydraulic assessment evaluates the viability of servicing a pump and Amarinth’s procedure ensures that all important components are replaced. Knowledgeable engineers inspect all non-replacement items for wear and tolerance. Using modern design and manufacturing tools, Amarinth can also re-engineer many components enhancing the overall pump performance.
